About

With its dense foliage, the Sycamore tree is the perfect shade tree. Enjoy a morning coffee or afternoon barbecue under this special tree and the shade that it provides. The Sycamore, living for hundreds of years, is known for its longevity and is one of the oldest trees on earth. Its large leaves, measuring up to 6” in length, are a unique deep green in the Spring and Summer, then turn yellow in the Fall – providing that perfect touch of color. In addition, the Sycamore is one of the hardiest trees, growing and thriving in a variety of climates and soil conditions. It is a symbol of strength and protection.

Wildlife

Squirrels and other small animals call the Sycamore tree their home due to its large, twisting branches.

Fun Facts

In 1777 during the Battle of Brandywine in the American Revolutionary War, a 168 year old Sycamore tree sheltered a large amount of General Washington’s troops. Since that time, the Sycamore has become a symbol of protection and hope for Americans.

Unlike Evergreens, which we ship year-round, Seasonal trees are shipped in early to mid-Spring and again in the Fall and are sent according to your local climate and this year's weather. This is done to be sure your tree is planted at the optimal time. Also, to be sure that your seedling arrives in a strong and healthy condition, we need to ship Seasonals when they are dormant in the Spring and Fall. Send us an email to info@thelivingurn.com or call us at (800) 495-7022 with questions or for more information regarding the delivery date of your tree.
